It's time to chase Innovation instead of reacting to the status quo.
-Taylor Williams
I am not one who follows superstitions. Okay, as a high school athlete, I was very superstitious, but in my professional life as a teacher, I have abandoned my superstitions because I know the father in heaven that leads my path. That being said, if I were superstitious...if the beginning of my new position was determined by how the first day goes, it might be time to look for another job because my first day as a secondary tech coach at this school was canceled by Typhoon Nidia. Good Karma? Anyway, thankfully I know that my life is not determined by the "inconveniences" that are before us.
That being said the second first day was an excellent, confusing, exciting experience. It was odd not sitting with my fellow Bible teachers, discussing how to bridge the gap between head knowledge and understanding of the heart of Jesus. It was different seeing the teacher taking over my former position. There was an excitement about working with new people, looking across the gym at all of the secondary faculty and seeing them as partners in education. So much potential and unknown for the year, it's exciting to dream. There was moments of encouragement, the congratulations from friends and peers for the new position. This position gives me the opportunity to help teachers enhance and innovate their lessons--something new and better. My hope is to challenge those I work with, encourage them and build them up as risk takers. Though the ride started with a typhoon, I know that the ride is not going to stop!
