Tech coach Records 2016/17
Welcome to my Artifacts
This is a page that chronicles the projects, training sessions and co-teaching opportunities that I have worked on during the first semester of the 2016/17 school year.
Welcome Back! Let's talk: Microsoft 365, Schoology, GAFE
At the beginning of the year, it was time to connect Teachers to the idea of having a Tech Coach. The first items on the agenda were introducing Microsoft 365 as well as encouraging teachers to innovate in their classrooms. Below are the Sway presentations used.

8th Grade: #GeniusFair
#GeniusFair was born out of an "innovator's mindset". Working with one of the MS humanities teachers, we decided to move forward with the idea of a Genius Fair instead of a typical science fair. Currently, the 8th grade is working through this process. They have been given 20% of their homeroom/advisory time to focus on their project. Currently all information shared is on my blog. Presenter at the International Christian Educators Conference
I had the opportunity to lead two workshops at the ICEC conference this fall. The first is a training on using iMovie to create classroom Hooks. The idea is to connect students to the lesson, unit or project by creating a trailer that "advertises" what they will be doing. Like the most popular trailers today, people get excited about what could be in the upcoming movie. We want to do the same with our trailers in the classroom. The presentation is below.
iMovie Trailers: The Hook!
The next workshop was titled: "Digital Storytelling: Reshaping the Narrative in your Classroom through Virtual Reality, Podcasting and More!" This is a step by step process of how digital storytelling can be integrated into any subject using many different tools and strategies.
International Christian Educators Conference Reflection
ICS had the honor of hosting the ICEC conference put on by ACSI. Of the 250 presentations, there were over 70 presentations coming directly from our school. The website below is an anthology of the presentations done by the faculty of ICS using Google Sites.

Middle School Technology Blog
The Middle School Principal has been a huge advocate of 1:1 integration. In order to keep parents, other teachers and board members informed, he asked that the teachers write periodic updates on the exciting "tech infused" learning opportunities that are happening in the classroom. I created this blog for teachers to add to and parents to use as a window into how the school uses the 1:1 program.

Sai-Do-Si
Better referred to in english circles as "Hong Kong French Toast", the volunteer technology coaches and I created a blog named "SaiDoSi" where we would post about the different training, research and ideas that we came across or presented in our Tech Pro-D Sessions. Posts are periodically added to this blog as well by teachers and tech coaches. Like the French Toast, we find so many different ingredients of technology can come together to make delicious learning experiences!
